Included in my Doula services:

Discuss you and your partner's wishes and ideal birth experience including previous history, any particular social, religious, cultural, medical factors which may play a part, form a birth plan, answer questions, address concerns, establish a rapport.

Obviously, feel free to call me if labor begins before the 2 week mark!
I am available via phone, text, email, facebook, etc. for any informal "chatter" and questions throughout the length of your pregnancy (and after!). I have remained in contact with all of my previous clients and they check in or have questions regularly, which is great!

Once labor begins I am only a phone call away! Depending on your needs I can come right away or if it is your plan to labor at home for awhile, I can head over once things really get going. Each woman and each birth is very individualized; I am here to serve you, so please let me know when you would like me by your side.
Doulas provide a plethora of labor support techniques, here are just a few:

Besides your partner, the Doula is often the only other constant throughout the Labor and Delivery. Nurses shuffle in and out and shifts change, meanwhile your Doctor or Midwife may not show up until it is time for them to "catch" the baby! I will continue the same empowering and encouraging support all the way up until you are counting those 10 precious fingers and toes.

If your plan is to breastfeed, I am more than happy to assist with establishing those first, critical nursing sessions as soon after birth as possible. From ensuring immediate skin to skin contact and assisting with proper latch and hold, to gently maintaining privacy for the mother and baby from excited family members, to recommending the "golden hour" after birth to be undisturbed by hospital staff, I can do it all!

I would be more than happy to provide tastefully shot photographs for you to always remember this very special day. If you would like me to use your camera, that is fine as well.

After you have had a chance to settle in with your new little one/s, I can stop by at your convenience to provide additional breastfeeding support, recommend comfort measures and "bottom" care (herb baths, etc.), throw in a load of laundry or even bring a meal! We can recap the birth experience and you will have a chance to talk with me and fill in some of the details that were lost in the bustle and flow of the momentous journey of birth. One visit is included in my services.

50% due upon hire as a retainer for services.
50% due at 38 weeks (when I go on call for you).
